DESCH Establishes US Presence in Fairlawn Thanks to FairlawnGig

DESCH is a global manufacturing company with headquarters based in Germany. DESCH established a presence in Fairlawn in 2017 as a market-leading drive technology partner providing solutions along the entire drive train. When it came time to establish a US headquarters, the global manufacturer conducted a nationwide search for the perfect location and landed right here in Fairlawn.

“A lot goes into a decision like this including the talent of the local workforce, available space, and in this case the Internet service available in Fairlawn,” explains Bill Rye, General Manager of DESCH USA. “We did our homework. We looked at the business environment and Fairlawn had everything we needed, including FairlawnGig.”

DESCH’s Akron/Fairlawn office serves as commercial engineering service support for its numerous US clients. DESCH USA, along with DESCH Canada, services and supports the US and many different markets.

Since DESCH USA has opened its office in Akron/Fairlawn, they’ve been pleased to find the Internet speeds and reliability to be everything they were promised.

“As an engineering and manufacturing company, we are working with huge files including technical data and CAD files,” says Dane Schaffer, Controller of DESCH USA. “We need to be able to share technical data and remain completely transparent with our international customer base – FairlawnGig allows us to do just that.”
