Originally, the CARES Act required all work to be complete by today, December 30, 2020. Since the grant, the deadline was extended into next year.
For our part, we are wrapping up slicing fiber connections this week and are done laying fiber everywhere except for one destination, the Summit County Jail (see orange section on map). Unfortunately there has been a COVID outbreak at the jail, preventing us from entering and finishing that last bit of fiber until mid-January.
We have purchased all the needed equipment and our team will be hard at work in the new year establishing connections and putting the fiber ring to use!
The Fiber Ring Project is shown on this Google Map where ORANGE indicates where conduit has been placed and GREEN is where fiber has been placed.
